Tar Sands Is The Problem; Biodiversity Is The Answer

The Flathead River Basin is a thriving hotbed for evolutionarily unique species: charismatic mega-fauna like Bighorn Sheep and wolves, the oldest sedimentary rock formations in the Rockies, and represents the pinnacle of North American wilderness.  It is home to the highest concentration of Inland Grizzly Bears anywhere in North America; contains wildflowers of which the only other place they are found is in the Mackenzie Delta in the Arctic circle; hosts the purest water flowing anywhere in the world; and remains the only low elevation valley that has never been permanently settled along the 49th parallel.  It is one of a kind and the last of its kind, comparable only to places like the Serengeti ecosystem in Tanzania or the Okavango Delta in Botswana, Africa.

LNG: What we don't hear from the other side

In the amendment of the Act, Premier Christy Clark and the Liberals had successfully altered the definition of “clean energy” to include liquefied natural gas – a non-renewableresource.
