SocialCoast Campaigns

Care to create some positive change in your community? We have the resources, the people, and a bit of experience! You’ve got the ideas. Let’s make it happen! Our campagns are an exciting part of SocialCoast. It allows us to be a decentralized, action-based organization. We open the doors to anybody who is willing to lead a campaign with us.

What’s it all about

The idea that leadership can come from anywhere in our community is an important focus of ours. While there are an enormous number of causes to protest and reasons to petition, SocialCoast has chosen to focus on a different strategy. We’re here to concentrate on local, direct, positive actions that we can all be a part of organizing.

We think this is a beautiful way to create a truly grassroots organization where all of its resources remain controlled by the community. It doesn’t matter where you are coming from, if you have a great idea get us on board and let’s make it happen!

SocialCoast focuses on one campaign at a time. To be selected by our organization, your campaign needs to be properly proposed, which is actually quite easy. W will adhere to our decision-making process when selecting campaigns. Keep reading to find out more!

The Decision-Making Process

For the moment, and simplicity sake, we would like to keep this as efficient as possible. Our priority is to make these decisions as a consensus. Until we figure out that model however, please bare with us while we use the fairest system available.

Realistic Proposal: First and foremost, the proposal needs to pass the criteria below. It must be practical, have a positive impact on the community, and affordable for us to pull off. Please submit this form, and we will go forward from there.

Online Support: Recognition is awarded for the campaign with the most supporters on SocialCoast, as well as the highest scoring poll on our website. Contact us in case you are not sure how to organize a campaign. Any other online activity (Facebook / Twitter) is also highly considered.

Community Support: Any formal support by local organizations, government, and / or local businesses will help your campaign to be selected.

Timeliness: It takes a bit of organizing to launch and finish a campaign in such a short amount of time. We like to have our decision made on the next campaign at least one month before its launch. The earlier your proposal is submitted, the more time we have to consider it. If your proposal is late, you can always choose to have it considered for the following campaign.

The Final Decision

We will make the decision, based on the above previous, at our SocialCoast Public House one month prior to the campaign. You are welcome to join us to celebrate our next campaign.

Some General Rules

If you are to propose a campaign, you’ll have to stick with it from beginning to end. We are here to support your cause. We’re your back up and you’re our chosen leader for a couple of months. You’ll have access to certain organizational and financial support while we work to achieve the stated goals.

We do consider a variety of tactics, including direct actions, and civil disobedience but we won’t support anonymous actions where no one is held accountable. We believe we should be proud, as members of the community, of the actions we take.

Events that are organized prior to the campaign launch are what we will stick with throughout the campaign unless there is serious reason to change it.

These campaigns are a great tool to spread the word about our organization. We try to tie as much of the events and media into exposure for us.

As mentioned in the previous page, we are only supporting one campaign at a time (at least at this point). Generally speaking, campaigns are highlighted for two months at a time.

Any new events that have been organized through your campaign, we ask that you leave us with the contact information so that we’ll be able to replicate the event for future campaigns.

There should be at least one event at the beginning and the end of your campaign where we celebrate your campaign’s successes.

Some Stuff We Do For Every Campaign

A short document detailing the reason why we are creating this campaign. For example: what are the problems in the community that need fixing? Or, how will this campaign benefit the community?

We work together to do a full on media release halfway or toward the end of the campaign.

We’ll organize some parties to raise money, awareness, and good times for the cause.

A SocialCoast Newsletter at the beginning of the campaign detailing the upcoming campaign, and how they can support it.

Promote it as much as we can on our website and other social media.
